The leather used in our first collection is a natural calfskin with a semi-shine finish. It was chosen for the softness expected from Italian leather, and also for durability and resistance to abrasion. To clean, use a soft, damp cloth; this should remove all normal wear-and-tear blemishes or stains.
The hardware used on each Douglas Rose bag is unique, and designed by our team. We considered the weight of the D-rings on the zipper pulls and the strength of the fish hook clips connecting to the shoulder straps. The finish, a brushed brass, is a blend of elegance and masculinity, inspired by a handmade Scottish heirloom from the 1890s.
The minutiae matters. We endured 5 rounds of sampling so that the bag in your hands tells a worthy story. From the bonded nylon thread color, small batch numbering system, and history of the curated coins, we wanted to make sure that your product is original and personally crafted. When you buy Douglas Rose, you’re connecting with the past, and equipped for today.
We stand behind the construction and design of each product. Our intent is for your bag to outlive you. If you’re unhappy with your investment, we’d love to talk. If you see any defects, we’d like to know about it. Your satisfaction is extremely important to us.
At Douglas Rose, quality is our number one priority. Our materials – from the type of leather to the weight of the hardware – have been chosen and tested to ensure that they last for decades. We sampled bags on three continents before choosing a factory aligned with our vision for premium craftsmanship.
